What is EDI?
Equity is the fair treatment of all community members through the removal of institutionalized barriers and biases.
Diversity is the representation of different worldviews, practices and experiences within a community. Individuals may hold diverse, intersecting identities along dimensions of race, Indigeneity, ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, socioeconomic status, age and abilities.
Inclusion is the valuing and welcome of all community members particularly those in underrepresented groups.

What issues can I discuss with the committee?
We are here to provide you with support and guidance in any issues that may arise in your classroom, within your department or any aspect of the university’s administration or services.
We recommend that you contact us first to discuss situations where you may feel that you’ve been denied fair treatment, been discriminated against, or where racial, gender, or ability membership has not been respected.
Student complaints; requests for accommodation; ways of navigating quickly changing social concerns are just some of the things you can discuss with us.
